Central Da Nang city’s economy achieved an impressive leap forward in the third quarter of 2026, with Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) surging 11.83% year-on-year. The sharp expansion follows sustained efforts to improve the local investment climate and remove bottlenecks for businesses, particularly strategic investors.

According to the Da Nang Statistics Office, the city posted steady quarter-on-quarter growth throughout 2026: 9.31% in the first quarter, 9.66% in the second quarter, and a breakout 11.83% in the third quarter. For the first nine months, its GRDP grew by 10.31%, positioning Da Nang ninth among Vietnam's provinces and centrally administered cities, and third among the nine centrally administered cities of the country.

The service sector served as the primary growth engine, contributing over half of the city's total GRDP expansion. The sector expanded 12.39% in the third quarter and 10.55% over the nine-month period, driven by double-digit gains across key segments: accommodation and food services rose 14.52%, transportation advanced 13.75%, and wholesale/retail trade climbed 12.08%.

Tourism remained a major highlight. Lodging establishments accommodated roughly 15.86 million guests during the nine months, up 26.4% year-on-year. International arrivals surpassed 7.73 million—a 28.7% jump—while domestic visitors reached nearly 8.13 million, up 24.3%. Total revenue from accommodation, food and beverage, and travel services totaled VND56.97 trillion (approx. $2.2 billion), rising 25.42%.

The industry and construction sector also played a vital role, growing 12.77% in the third quarter. Notably, construction surged 22.26% on the back of accelerated progress on major infrastructure and development projects. Total realized social investment reached an estimated VND88 trillion (nearly $3.4 billion), up 42.3% year-on-year, with the non-state sector accounting for 70.1% of the total.

Mr. Le Ngoc Quang, Secretary of the Da Nang Municipal Party Committee, affirmed that the city will continue to refine its investment environment and foster favorable conditions for enterprises, with a special emphasis on attracting and facilitating strategic investors.
