In 2026, ACCA Vietnam welcomed 235 new members, including 151 new members and 84 new Fellows. To qualify for ACCA membership, candidates must complete a rigorous program of study and pass a series of important examinations. This process equips them with a solid foundation in accounting, finance, business, and law, while developing their analytical and problem-solving skills and their ability to apply knowledge in practice.

At advanced levels, candidates further develop their ability to assess risks, manage business performance, analyze data, and make business decisions, while cultivating the strategic thinking required to undertake increasingly diverse roles in accounting and finance. Throughout this journey, professional ethics, integrity, and responsibility toward the public interest remain fundamental requirements.
In addition to passing professional examinations and completing professional skills development modules, candidates must accumulate at least 36 months of relevant work experience in accounting or finance and demonstrate their competence by meeting nine performance objectives. The combination of academic knowledge, practical application, professional experience, and rigorous ethical standards underpins the value of the ACCA qualification.

At the ceremony, Ms. Melanie Proffitt emphasized that ACCA members share a spirit of perseverance, a commitment to continuous professional development, adherence to ethical standards, and a desire to contribute to their communities. These values underpin the trust and credibility that accounting professionals earn from employers, partners, clients, and organizations worldwide. As technology and artificial intelligence become capable of performing an increasing range of tasks, the importance of distinctly human qualities becomes even more apparent.
“In a hyper-automated world, accounting professionals bring qualities such as intuition and trust, assurance capabilities, and experience—values that cannot easily be replaced by technology,” Ms. Melanie Proffitt affirmed.

Congratulating ACCA on its 25-year journey in Vietnam and extending her congratulations to its new members and newly admitted Fellows, Deputy State Auditor General Ha Thi My Dung acknowledged their perseverance and dedication to the profession. She noted that Vietnam’s community of finance, accounting, and auditing professionals holding internationally recognized qualifications continues to grow.
In the current context, deeper integration into the global economy and the adoption of international standards in finance, accounting, and auditing have become essential. This process places higher demands on the quality of financial information, transparency, accountability, and the professional competence of public agencies, organizations, and businesses.

To meet these requirements, Vietnam needs professionals who understand international standards, domestic regulations, and practical conditions in the country. ACCA members can serve as a bridge between international professional knowledge and its practical application in Vietnam.
“I am confident that the growth and professionalism of ACCA members will help Vietnamese businesses, government agencies, and organizations work more effectively with international investors and partners. At the same time, they will strengthen the pool of professionally qualified personnel available to both the public and private sectors. This represents a practical contribution by ACCA to the development of the profession in Vietnam,” emphasized Deputy State Auditor General Ha Thi My Dung.

The welcoming of new members and newly admitted Fellows demonstrated the vitality of a thriving professional community in which knowledge, experience, and professional values are continually passed on to new generations.
Notably, the ceremony also included a special segment honoring outstanding young talents who received the British Consul General’s Scholarship and the ACCA Futurist 2026 Scholarship.
Organized annually by ACCA, ACCA Futurist is a scholarship program for secondary school students nationwide. It encourages young people to explore their potential, learn about future career opportunities, and prepare for their professional journeys while still at school. The program reflects ACCA’s commitment to investing in future generations while creating opportunities for young people to access quality education, receive career guidance, and gain international exposure.

After 25 years, ACCA’s community in Vietnam has grown to more than 1,300 members and over 7,000 future members. ACCA is also proud to have contributed to the education and development of nearly 10,000 professionals who hold key positions in finance, accounting, and business, supporting the growth of Vietnamese enterprises and the national economy.
The 2026 New Members Ceremony also provided an opportunity for ACCA Vietnam to reflect on a meaningful journey: 25 years of engagement and partnership in Vietnam. During this time, ACCA has not only contributed to developing a highly skilled workforce in accounting and finance but has also established an extensive professional network where knowledge and experience are shared, connected, and disseminated.
In 2026, ACCA continued to expand its cooperation with government agencies, organizations, and the business community, including initiatives related to the development of Vietnam’s International Financial Centres. At the ACCA–VIFC Forum 2026, held in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang in September, ACCA and its partners promoted dialogue on legal frameworks, priority sectors, and investment opportunities at the two International Financial Centres. They also signed cooperation agreements with the executive authorities of both centres to strengthen connections and facilitate professional knowledge-sharing.
These developments further reinforce ACCA’s role as a bridge between the professional community, the public sector, and the business community, while bringing international expertise, resources, and networks closer to Vietnam.
