On September 16, 2026, at the headquarters of Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex/Group), the leadership of Petrolimex and Thanh Cong Group (TC Group) held a working session to discuss potential areas of cooperation based on the strengths, resources, and development needs of each party, with a focus on energy and infrastructure for green transportation.

Deputy General Director of Petrolimex and Chairman of VGX’s Board of Directors Nguyen Ngoc Tu speaking at the working session.

Overview of the working session
The working session took place amid the ongoing energy transition and vehicle electrification, which are creating increasing demand for infrastructure to supply energy to electric vehicles. This is also an area that Petrolimex is proactively researching and gradually expanding into, in line with market trends and the direction of the energy transition.
With its extensive infrastructure and nationwide network of petroleum stations, Petrolimex is well positioned to explore the integration of new energy solutions, gradually improve the efficiency of its existing infrastructure, and respond to changes in customer demand. Connecting with partners in the automotive, technology, and transportation sectors is one of the approaches that enables Petrolimex to leverage its existing strengths while expanding its energy service ecosystem.
At the working session, Petrolimex and TC Group discussed areas where their respective strengths could complement each other. Petrolimex’s strengths in infrastructure, network coverage, and energy-sector experience could be combined with TC Group’s capabilities in automobile manufacturing and distribution, as well as its orientation toward vehicle electrification, thereby opening up potential areas of cooperation in line with the development of clean-energy vehicles in Vietnam.
One of the concrete outcomes of the working session was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Vietnam Green Energy Infrastructure Joint Stock Company (VGX) – a company established by Petrolimex, Xuan Cau Holdings, and Selex Motors – and TC Group on strategic cooperation in developing energy infrastructure for electrified vehicles in Vietnam.

Representatives of VGX and TC Group sign the MOU on strategic cooperation in developing energy infrastructure for electrified vehicles in Vietnam.
Under the MOU, the two parties will explore the development of a shared green energy infrastructure network, focusing on convenient, safe, standardized, and cost-efficient electric charging solutions and energy services.
Speaking at the event, Deputy General Director of Petrolimex and Chairman of VGX’s Board of Directors Nguyen Ngoc Tu emphasized that the cooperation between VGX and TC Group represents a concrete step toward developing an integrated and open green energy infrastructure system serving multiple automotive brands and users. This also provides a basis for the parties to continue exploring practical cooperation models that optimize resources and investment efficiency.
By strengthening connections with partners in the automotive and transportation industries, Petrolimex continues to proactively explore new energy business areas, make effective use of its existing resources and infrastructure, and gradually expand its development opportunities amid the ongoing energy transition.
Established in 1999, Thanh Cong Group (TC Group) has nearly 30 years of experience in automobile manufacturing, distribution, and the supply of automotive parts and components, with an extensive network across the country. With the aim of playing an important role in the global supply chain in the sector, TC Group is gradually moving toward contributing to the development of green transportation in Vietnam.
In the coming period, Petrolimex and its partners will continue to study and further develop the cooperation initiatives, with the aim of expanding the energy ecosystem and contributing to the development of green transportation in Vietnam.
