On the afternoon of September 27, in Thong Nhat Ward, Gia Lai Province, a working delegation from Military Region 5, led by Major General Phan Dai Nghia, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff, inspected preparations for receiving students for the 2026–2027 academic year at Branch 1 of the Central Military Boarding School.
Under a decision of the Ministry of National Defence, Branch 1 of the Central Military Boarding School under Military Region 5 was established and located in Thong Nhat Ward, on the site of the former headquarters of the Gia Lai Provincial Military Command.
For the 2026–2027 academic year, Branch 1 will enroll 160 male and female students in two Grade 6 classes and two Grade 10 classes, with 40 students per class. According to the plan, the school will receive students on September 30 and hold a ceremony to announce the establishment decision and officially commence operations on October 1.

Implementing the direction of the Military Region 5 Command, since September 3, 2026, Branch 1 has proactively coordinated with Regiment 38 under Division 2, Engineer Brigade 280 under Military Region 5, and Thanh An 96 Construction Joint Stock Company under Army Corps 11 to accelerate preparations in all areas.
The units have focused on upgrading facilities, improving accommodation, dining, and living conditions, recruiting teachers, and ensuring adequate equipment for teaching and learning.
During the working session, the delegation conducted an on-site inspection of the barracks, lecture halls, functional areas, accommodation facilities for students, officers, teachers, and staff, as well as all preparations for organizing education and training activities.

Concluding the inspection, Major General Phan Dai Nghia requested that the relevant agencies of Military Region 5 continue coordinating with and guiding the school in completing the remaining tasks; make thorough preparations for receiving students; organize the personnel structure in accordance with regulations; and conduct thorough and safe follow-up health examinations.
Major General Phan Dai Nghia emphasized that before September 30, Branch 1 must complete its system of directives and timetables; finalize practical classrooms, projectors and television systems, student accommodation, roads and grounds, training grounds, practice areas, and sports facilities. The school must also ensure adequate furniture and learning equipment so that it is fully prepared to begin teaching in accordance with the prescribed curriculum and plan.
